Best Baby & Kids Toy Brands

These are my favorite baby and kids play and toy brands.

To me, the “play” category encompasses items that promote good play, whether it’s a lounger, a tent, a kitchen, activity mat, mess station etc. Toys are toys.

I have found that baby play is generally pretty boring and one-sided until they are 3-4 months old, so I wouldn’t spend a lot of time buying a ton of stuff for a super tiny infant unless it’s for future use. Don’t feel annoyed or sad if an infant doesn’t don’t like a toy you bought, for the first few weeks of their lives babies are basically sweet blind noodles. Stick to high contrast (black & white) gifts, small soft items that can go in their hand and mouth, mirrors, and a great bouncer chair + add on toy.

As babies get older, prepare for a strange combination of favorite toys: stuffed animal, doll, plastic cup, your keys/phone/wallet/remote…

Toddlers will follow a similar path of confusingly latching on to the least glam item in their toy box…don’t despair. Eventually they will play with it, probably.

They could also be like Griffin, who gives you a list of demands which is 90% dinosaurs, 8% blocks, and 2% trampoline.

If I find more brands, I’ll update the list, I promise. Here are my tried and true brands that I always return to!
